My Experience

When people ask me what I do for a living I tell them I’m a relationship doctor. My work revolves around helping individuals and groups in identifying what is important, setting goals and expectations, tracking progress and learning from experience. Some times people ask me to work with them when things are going well and they want to keep things going in the right direction. At other times people come to me because things are not going well for them or their group, there are problems or issues and the level of frustration is rising. What connects these two types of situations is that both are about the quality of the relationships that people are having with one another.

My experiences coaching and consulting with senior executives through first line managers in both business and construction project settings have given me a good understanding of the issues confronting leaders at all levels and the importance of linking strategy and goals to individual accountability.

I received a doctorate (EdD) from Boston University (MA) in the area of counseling and psychological development. I continue to be involved in research on how to take the lessons of experience and turn them into tactical, practical tools for use on the job.
